Art Tart Jewelry began in 2002 when designer, Suzanne Wightman, began making jewelry. What began as a desire to pursue an art form, blossomed into a full time business with a retail location, which opened in 2004 in a south Tampa neighborhood, and was called The Art Tarts. After 5 years the poor economy dictated some downsizing. So, in February 2011, Suzanne opened a second store, “Art Tart Jewelry”, a smaller distilled version of the first store.

Suzanne was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. She received her BS degree in Education from University of Florida. She has previously worked in the fields of fashion, interior design, and real estate.
